True Stories

Maria’s story of healing

25 May 2021

In 1990 I was baptised by full immersion at age 19, with the bible evidence of speaking in tongues.

In 2003, I moved from the Philippines to Australia but I stopped attending church.

In 2014, I suffered a mental breakdown and was hospitalised for a month. I lost the ability to speak English and spoke only in Tagalog. I was wheelchair bound and had loss of memory. I didn’t know how I was admitted into hospital.  Praise God – He is so loving! He didn’t let my mental state worsen, and I gradually recovered.

I attended various churches searching for the right place of worship. In May 2016 while walking at the beach, I prayed that God would show me where He wanted me to worship Him. He answered my prayer that day when I met a woman outside the shopping mall who handed me a Revival Fellowship pamphlet.

I attended the Sunday meeting and have continued attending meetings ever since. I was touched by the love and care that the pastor, brothers and sisters showed me and the practical help they gave me. This was God’s love in action.

‘For the fruit of the spirit is in all goodness, righteousness and truth.’ (Ephesians 5:9)

Despite ongoing health concerns, the Lord always provided. I was able to find part time work in between bouts of ill health, and have regained my memory.

He has brought me from a state of confusion to leading a normal, happy life, rejoicing in Him.

I praise and thank the Lord for being with me through all my trials and difficulties. He is ever faithful, and a loving Heavenly Father who directs my path.
