True Stories

Delivered from the grip of Social Anxiety and Depression

19 Nov 2024

I was raised in the fellowship & Spirit filled at a young age, with God’s sign of speaking in tongues.

Two amazing miracles happened at the beginning of my life. The first miracle: I came off a motorcycle and the hot-plate rubbed against my leg. It gave me a third degree burn and burnt my pants into my skin, but even after peeling my pants off the burn, it never gave me pain, and it healed naturally. The second miracle: I was thrown onto some metal. My family rushed in & saw my spine was snapped, and shavings of metal were digging into my spine. They prayed & before their eyes it healed to nothing but a graze. After this I knew God had His protection on my life.

Once I entered high school I was constantly harassed so I became quiet and shut myself away from people. By the age of 16 I became so depressed about it that I had lost my ability to interact with others. I ended up failing school the next year, then spending 2 years at a disability employment service for people with autism and mental illness. At this point I had failed school, was unemployed and couldn’t drive. I was hooked on video games and social media. I had holes all through my clothes, acne, long messy hair, and I hated the world around me. I sat down one day and prayed to God: ‘This is the life I am capable of living. I have tried to live a good life but I do it without You. I need You to do it for me.’ It was the start of the year, and from that moment everything started to change. I started praying and fixed up my appearance. I bought a car and got my ‘Red Ps’, then a job. I started studying music, quit video games and social media. Then I started giving talks at church. I asked Andria out, and by the end of the year, we were married and I got into university.

God has healed my social anxiety and transformed me. I can share my testimony in front of hundreds, socialise with new people and perform music at camps. This life was not something I earned but a free blessing to share with other people.
