Soul Sistas – March 2019

14 Mar 2019

The annual Soul Sistas weekend rolls around so quickly each year. It’s always a great weekend and I’m so glad to be a part of it!

Sisters of all ages gathered for some soul food, continual fellowship, a lot of laughs and a lot of chocolate!

This year’s theme scripture was Ephesians 1:4-5

“According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will.”

We reflected on how we have been adopted into God’s family and have access to a heavenly inheritance. We completed a study on four women from the Old Testament: Tamar, Rahab, Bathsheba and Ruth. These women were all women who God saw fit to be in the lineage of Jesus. I particularly got a lot out of the story of Tamar (Genesis 38). I didn’t know anything about her story before camp! Others said this too. She had a lot go wrong but she fought for what she was entitled to and was rewarded.

We had a lovely high tea lunch, enjoyed some garden games, strained our brains in an escape room challenge, trekked to a lookout for ice cream, had a beautiful chorus session, heard amazing testimonies and all took communion together. What a blessed time with sisters dwelling in unity.
