Ladies Weekend on the South Coast
18 Dec 2019Ladies have been invited to gather on the South Coast for quite a few years and this year was no exception.
As was the case last year, very comfy, spacious accommodation at the Moorings Resort just outside Tomakin was made available through the generosity of Robyn Corbett. The venue is an easy drive from many surrounding fellowships.
Fellowship is the key theme for the weekend – iron sharpening iron as we reconnected with those we hadn’t seen for a while and established connections with those we hadn’t met before. After a feast of eggs and bacon on Saturday morning, it was up to you whether you preferred a day of relaxing, sightseeing or shopping at nearby markets.
A communal dinner at a nearby restaurant on Saturday night was both warm with the love of the saints and lively as we all let our guards down to have some fun together. Back at one of the units after dinner, gifts were given – and sometimes taken from each other during a “Bad Santa” game. The evening ended in a magical time of worshipping during a session of A Cappella choruses.
We swelled the numbers and enjoyed a fellowship lunch with the saints at the Moruya fellowship on Sunday – a fitting end to a weekend that reminded us that we can serve the Lord and each other by simply being involved.
