Kids’ Camp 2020
2 Nov 2020Kids’ Camp 2020 was certainly different this year! We went online!
There was a jam-packed online program for everyone zooming in, which included several short meetings and catch-ups, a communion meeting, and pre-recorded ministry. In addition to the online sessions we had our traditional camp “Skill Share” activities for kids to do in their home locations – whether in small groups (like in Canberra and on the Central Coast) or at home with Mum and Dad. The kids were encouraged to document and record their activities, and share a few things about themselves through photos, videos and stories using an online app to stay connected. The first activity was the Chalk Challenge. It was about the theme “We Are One!” and was particularly spectacular. We saw lots of great photos of these masterpieces! The second activity saw the kids turn a pillowcase or t-shirt into a Kids’ Camp 2020 keepsake, using fabric markers.
Because Kids’ Camp went online it also meant that a lot more kids could get involved this year. We had kids join in from all over, including Tasmania and New Zealand! So the Kids made some more new friends which is always a highlight.
