Gospel Cafe x Central Coast

16 Apr 2025

Picture this: it’s a Saturday night in Terrigal, gathered under a canopy of fairy lights are dozens of people relaxing around gently lit tables.  There’s an energetic buzz of conversation and laughs while the clinking of forks on plates as every morsel of cake and dessert is enjoyed. Then, the flow of music fills the room- what a vibe!

Gospel Cafe nights have quickly become a highlight in the NSW calendar, last held in Sydney (Divine Blend) and the most recent in March at Terrigal.  The goal of the night is to create a relaxed, down-to-earth, event that people can invite friends, family, colleagues and neighbours to enjoy. Our fellowship is a place of light and love, with lives changed through God’s power and truth. We don’t want to be the best kept secret, we want people to see it, feel it and hopefully look further for themselves.

Throughout the evening Dan, our casual emcee, interviewed performers, asking them questions ranging from how they came to play music, their approach to writing songs, how the gospel came into their lives and how it’s changed them.

The artist line up included Wendy & Al (who always set the record for maximum number of instruments played in a set or at once), Joe & Katherine (featuring multi-instrumentalist, Sam Hall) and a truly memorable cover of ‘River’ by Kenzie and Mae, as well as Paul and Jenny Trad.

Behind the scenes the kitchen was a synchronized dance of plates and platters moving through to the main floor. It was a delight hearing laughs and chatter coming from the kitchen, knowing the catering team who worked so diligently the whole night were having as much fun as everyone else out on the floor & stage.

These nights are such a highlight for performers and guests alike. Perhaps it’s the delicious desserts, or maybe it’s taking a moment after a busy week to sit and enjoy the entertainment but most likely it’s the quality conversations. It’s the space for honest discussions prompted by the lyrics, the artists explaining the inspiration behind their next song and opportunity for authentic connection over Jesus’ love for us and the life he’s called us into.

Stay tuned for the date and tickets release for the next Gospel Café later this year.

In the meantime, enjoy this showcase of the night:
